Believe it or not, most young women worldwide face the agony of an outright attack on their fertility if the ‘good news’ is not announced by them within 2-3 years after the marriage. This ‘attack’ comes, commonly, from older relatives who begin to cast anxious looks and try every single way in the “book of obvious hints” to make this felt, which is often disgusting to say the least.
One of the biggest reasons why couples delay pregnancy is financial or career standings. The world may want you to bring a new life to this world, but only the two of you know what the true reason for delay is and you just cannot satisfy the world at the cost of your life. However, things may start go ugly if it is discovered that the possibility of having children is bleak or absent. In 99 percent of the cases (if not 100), the woman is blamed though it may be the other way around. These are the times when sexual activities suddenly appear to be mechanical or unsatisfying, especially for the woman.
It is recommended that professional counseling must be sought-after on an immediate basis by the couples before feelings of suspicion, intolerance, quarrels, and misunderstanding make their way into the relationship. It is important for both the partners to understand that fertility is something that is beyond control and should therefore not be condemned. The news of infertility may break heart but it should not be enough to break the relationship at any cost.
If you and your spouse have been medically tested and the medical ruling is against you, the world is still very much yours and you can give a new meaning to life by opting for adoption. You will be surprised to know that adoption is gaining popularity with every passing time and you should feel privileged to give “life” and your name to a deprived child rather than blaming the destiny. If you have been experiencing mood swings or attitude problems due to problems in conceiving, it is highly suggested that you take some quality time to develop new interests - dramatics, sports, music, painting, or social groups. This will relieve the tension and you will be in a better frame of mind to make an informed decision.
Last but surely not the least the world including both of you will not end just because you do not have children. You must respect your partner and vice-versa and the world can be beautiful even with the two of you; it is just how you perceive things coming your way. After all, there is more than just motherhood for you to experience.
