Live-in relationships may be considered by some as unethical and unjustified but the concept of this togetherness is gaining popularity these days. It is even good to know that even the otherwise conservative Supreme Court of India has made a decision in favor of those feeling this togetherness through a live-in understanding.
The Supreme Court recently said that a long term live-in relationship is as good as a marriage in the eyes of law. However, things are not still easy for couples deciding and want to opt for live-in relationship, because of social stigma and the old-age successful concept of marriage.
If you are about to enter a live-in relationship or already a part of it, it is important for you to understand the expectations and future of such relationship before continuing any further. If delay in tying the knot is the sole reason, it can surely be handled without such a relationship. Things are not easy with a live-in relationship and it is always recommended that you two handle your own expenses, savings, and investments and insist on joint ownership where the money needs to come out of both pockets. It is also suggested that you observe a more accommodating and tolerant attitude towards your live-in partner so that things never take a bad swing.
Last but not the least, it is important that you do not plan pregnancy unless both of you truly confide and trust future of the relationship. Remember, you may have just got modern with the idea of live-in relationship but you are not going to find every one consenting to it and this is where the troubles and relationship hassles start happening. Take a good decision and abide by it.
